Alleged sexual assault in Devonport Park

Police in Plymouth are investigating a sexual assault allegation.

The alleged incident took place in Devonport Park between 7pm and 11pm yesterday evening.

Two girls reported that they were walking through the park when they were approached by a man who sexually assaulted one of them.

The victim, a 15 year old girl, had her phone stolen during the attack.

A police search of the park was carried out today, and a mobile phone similar to the phone reported as missing has been recovered.

A 28 year-old man from the Devonport area is currently in police custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in the Devonport Park area between 7pm and 11pm yesterday evening.
