Man dies in St Budeaux RTC

A serious collison between a silver car and a motorcycle took place on the A38 Parkway, St Budeaux at around 7am on Friday morning.

A male motorcyclist was treated by ambulance crews but was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was in his forties.

The road between Weston Mill and Crownhill was closed eastbound while investigations took place, but reopened at 3pm.

Police arrested a 57 year-old woman from the Plymouth area on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She was later released on police bail until 30 April 2012 while police carry out a full investigation.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses to the collision and ask anyone who was travelling in either direction in the area of the Parkway shortly before 7am today to contact them on 101.
