At around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon police received a report that a young man had been robbed while walking through the North Cross subway on Western Approach.
The 17 year-old victim was with his friend counting a quantity of cash (believed to be around £280) when two offenders allegedly grabbed the money and ran off towards Royal Parade.
Police were despatched immediately, and a short time later two men were arrested at Derry’s Cross roundabout.
Two 17 year old men from the Stonehouse area have been released on police bail until 1st June 2011 while police make further enquiries.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or saw two men running towards Royal Parade around this time. If you have any information that can help the police’s enquiries call 08452 777444.
A police spokesman said: “Street robberies in Plymouth are not an everyday occurrence but with many people carrying high-value items around, including cash, it is worth reminding people to be vigilant of your surroundings, particularly when moving away from cash machines after making a withdrawal."

Key word here is allegedly. Sounds like a scam to me. Prob took someone elses money then said they'd been robbed.
