Plymouth in 1086 - the first online copy of Domesday Book

Did you know that there was only one house in Stonehouse in 1086? The house was occupied by a sole villager, and the local Lord was called 'Robert the B*****d.' Stoke was a bit bigger with twenty-five houses. It had sixteen villagers, four smallholders, and five slaves.
I've just been looking at a really interesting website called 'Domesday Map' - a website that was put together last year using free available academic data from the original 1086 Domesday Book.
The site is still in the early stages, but it has some great historical information about town population, size, owners and more. Click here to view a full list of places in Plymouth.
