CRIME.
Crime figures for the period 29th January to 5th February 10 are down from 26 crimes reported last year to 13 this year.
These include a number of thefts: -
Between 3.55 and 4.05pm on Thurs. 4th February a mobile phone was taken from a person in Devonport Park, the offender asking for the time!Another mobile phone was taken from a locker in the changing rooms at Brickfields between 6.00 and 10.00pm on Weds 3rd February.Overnight 31Jan – 1 February rear window was smashed and 2 DVD players and screens stolen for a car in Mills Road.Overnight 30-31 January, washing stolen from a rear garden in Durrant Close.

Anti-social behaviour incidents recorded in the same period in 2009 were 15 compared with 8 for this year.
‘Good News.’
The Police Authority has approved the building of a new police station for Devonport.
The Station will be built in Fore Street on the current car park site opposite Mecca Bingo.
It is hoped that work will commence later this year with completion in 2011/12.

Marlborough Street Activity Day - Weds. 17th February,

"A day to beat those winter blues - where everyone springs into action!"
PC Cher Dunbar and Crime Prevention Officer Sarah German are planning a day of fun for the community in Marlborough Street.
You will be able to get involved with your local neighbourhood team and partners who will be hosting a range of activities for big kids and little kids to all enjoy.
We hope to have guest appearances by Paul Mariner (Plymouth Argyle) and‘Miss Galaxy, Plymouth’.

The Bobbies on the Beat steering group met on Weds. 30th December 09 and set the following priorities for the team for the following 6 weeks: -
Drug dealing and use.High profile policing to combat anti-social behaviour,
with emphasis on youth behaviour in the Tower Blocks and Cumberland Corner.
Control of Dogs.
The next meeting of the Bobbies on the Beat Steering Group is on Wednesday 10th February at 5.00pm at Brickfields Sports Centre, Devonport.
