St Aubyn's Church

Devonport has come alive with the renovation work being conducted in the whole area in the past few years and St Aubyn’s Church on Chapel Street is one of the most historic and iconic buildings in Devonport to receive a new face lift.
The list of refurbishments is seemingly endless, including a brand new ground floor library with a lounge area and computer suite. A mezzanine floor will link the upper balconies to retain a completely separate area for worship and there will be a new church entrance to the side of the building with improved disabled access.
Devonport had the opportunity to celebrate St Aubyn’s Church for one last time on 3rd June with music, prayers and a trip down memory lane of photos showing the church as it looked in the past and how it may look in the future after the renovations are complete.
Reverend David Nixon explains that Sunday worship is still being continued at the Green Ark Children’s Centre in Fore Street.
Comments
This is another project funded by the DRC Devonport Regeneration Company. St Aubyn's Church is a grade 2 listed building that has fallen into disrepear over the years but has always been regarded as a fond site in Devonport. I think that the work being conducted on the Church will be a real boost for the community.

ReportThis is a great thing. All the new stuff will really add to the place. Where did they get the money from to do it?
