Wow that's a very niave view there! I'm sure millions would disagree with you .... strongly. My cousin is a teacher. She's worked very hard to get to where she is, and went through all of her years of training asuming that her pension would be sorted. No fair to change things now. It will negatively affect so many people. Builder, carpenters etc made their own choices in live. They knew when they first started that they would not receive some of the beneifits you get through being employed. Nurses, teachers etc have all trained very hard for their positions, and deserve the benefits that come with those jobs. Many of them have had no pay increase for 2 years as it is! No wonder people are upset.
Absolutely crazy if you ask me. "My Pension is my Pay" ??? No it's not. Most people have to pay into their own pension fund and sort it out themselves, so why should teachers and government officials be any different!? Why should we be expected to foot the bill when everyone's having to make cutbacks themselves. Greedy. Everyone's making sacrifices for the country at the moment. It's just the way it is and it needs to happen. Builders, carpenters and many other proffessions have lasted for years without incorporated pension funds.
