THE THEMES of faith, hope and love have being explored in a unique musical drama.
Written and composed by staff at Notre Dame Roman Catholic School, the performance was based on the last seven words of Christ.
Pupils and adults from the Derriford-based school were joined by those from St Boniface, Devonport High School for Boys and Devonport High School for Girls to enact the piece, which was part of the site’s preparations for Easter.
“As a Catholic school it is important to find opportunities to pause in our busy lives and reflect on some of the bigger questions,” said Fiona Hutchings, headteacher of Notre Dame. “For us, education of the mind is important but so is education of the spirit.”
Seven Last Words took to the stage at the school as well as St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Tavistock Road, Crownhill, and Plymouth Cathedral of St Mary and St Boniface, Cecil Street, city centre, from March 30 to April 2.
